So I finally decided to follow my dreams in attempting to write a full comic series. And since I love Lovecraft and weird fiction in general, I decided to try my hand at using influences. i’m generally integrating elements from color out of space, simply because I always found at the most interesting of his stories. The only problem is, I am trying to figure out some elements that I still need to flesh out and make it better. Any help would be appreciated.
Here’s what I’ve came up with so far:
-Parallel to our universe, there’s a round film with an ever-changing, ever shifting form that is the personification of chaos and change within the multi-verse. Important thing to note is that this is neither evil nor good. It’s simply exists. another thing to keep in mind is that this realm itself is in a state of growth. It defies traditional human definitions, and therefore is neither alive nor dead, but is governed by an instinct to grow and spread .
-In a place called Serling County, a rift appears that is a access point to this other room. I want nothing happens at first, eventually it’s noticed that people with in this area start coming down with a sickness known as the sleeping week. This sickness traps individuals in a cocoon like structure where they’re trapped with in their own minds in a state purely dictated by their dreams, fears, hopes, and nightmares. and once someone symptoms to the sleeping week, they never come out. Everyone except one person.
-This person in question was actually subject zero in the sleeping wake epidemic. They were trapped within this state for months, and when they manage to wake up. Nearly half the population has been affected. But in addition to their ability to survive, they also discover that they have the ability to enter the consciousness of others to help them wake up.
Eventually, the realm starts manifesting more physical threats. Like these creatures that are known as Morphs. Morphs our formless, mindless creatures that in print and take the personality and characteristics of things around them. But at the same time their ultimate goal is to terraform all living and I’m living matter in to this realm.
My one idea would be a final rupture of Energy that causes Serling county to become completely cut off from the rest of society. And as the days go on it is becoming more and more a part of the realm.
-While most things remain unexplained, the big twist will be that the main character is the round. Eventually they will evolve to a state beyond our universe and become the very thing that is currently seeping into our world.
Thats about all I’ve come up with so far. When I mainly asking if anyone would be interested in either helping or giving suggestions. I really wanna make this the best that it can be, and I love getting feedback from others. Thank you so much!
