Just like you, I’m a fan of H.P. Lovecraft.

From sculptures to film, the Old Gent from Providence has influenced my work like no other. When it came to realizing cosmic horror and unspeakable dread, Lovecraft was without peer and is to this day. That’s why it’s so important to me to do justice to his tales and to make the absolute best film that I can of “Pickman’s Model”.

In 1999, I began my Lovecraft cinematic trilogy with “Cool Air”, which has become a fan favorite of adapting what is often called “unfilmable” in the right way. I’m of the feeling that to adapt Lovecraft to film means to visualize it in the period in which he wrote his stories; during the Great Depression and the Jazz Age, where much of the world was still to be discovered and real life horrors could lurk just around the corner in the darkness.
