I can't help my mind from constantly turning to the Yellow King and his cursed play this year. Yellow in the late 1800s was symbolic of illness and plague, much like the current pandemic we face. In it the king comes to save a city from pending doom, by making them all wear masks. However, once the people put on their masks, the mask becomes their face and can never be removed again. Society begins to collapse, law and order disintegrates, people turn on each other, neighbors and loved ones cease to know and recognize each other. Eventually the great empire falls to the Yellow King and the endless chaos of Carcosa.
